Getting Started with GetResponse

Here’s a quick getting started video from GetResponse so you can get up and running quickly after you login:

Choosing the Right Type of Email

GetResponse gives you three different types of messages that you can send:

  • Newsletter – Also known as an HTML newsletter or an email blast, these are designed to be emails that you send regularly to keep subscribers up-to-date on what’s happening with your website, your business or your organization.
  • Autoresponder – Also known as a sequential autoresponder, these types of messages go out automatically after a user subscribes and are delivered to users via a set schedule that you determine. Common uses for Autoresponders include online courses, how-to’s and beginner’s guides. You can set these to go out every X days automatically so that your users can progress through the course or guide without any extra involvement on your part.
  • RSS-to-Email – Also known as a blog email or blog broadcast, this is a special type of newsletter that updates your users whenever you write a new blog post.

GetResponse lets you mix and match the types of messages, so if you want to create a blog about email marketing tips, for example, you can do that. If you have a blog, you can keep users up-to-date with RSS-to-email messages each time you make a new post, as well as offer them a free course (delivered via autoresponder) on how to use email marketing to make money online.  Of course, you’ll want to tailor these suggestions to fit your particular area of expertise, but getting started with GetResponse is a great first step.
